Police nab 5 men, find 1kg syabu during Simpang Ampat drug raid

SIMPANG AMPAT: Police nabbed five men during a drug raid and seized drugs worth RM65,000 on Monday evening.

Seberang Prai Selatan Police Chief Superintendent Shafee Abdul Samad said that the anti-narcotics team raided a house here at about 6pm where they found the drugs.

A packet containing 1kg syabu was seized together with RM2,500 cash and two cars at the home where it is the men, aged between 20 and 50, were living.

Three of them worked as labourers, one was a fisherman and the other is unemployed.

"The five suspects had been remanded for one week until Aug 14," he said in a press statement today.

The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for trafficking dangerous drugs.
