KAJANG: Police have arrested a foreign woman and a local man on suspicion of distributing drugs in a raid here this morning.
Kajang police chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof said the suspects, aged 41 and 32, were detained about 4am by the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department.
"Police seized white powder, suspected to be ketamine, weighing about 2,583g.
"Green, purple and grey powders, suspected to be methylenedioxy-methamphetamine (MDMA), weighing about 640g were also confiscated."
He said one of the suspects had two drug-related records and both tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
He said the total seizure was worth about RM142,500.
He said both suspects had been remanded for seven days until Aug 5 to assist in investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
If found guilty, the suspects face the death penalty or life imprisonment and not less than twelve strokes of the cane.
