SHAH ALAM: Police last night arrested another man in connection with the murder of Lance Corporal Valentino Anak Mesa in Pinggiran USJ police station.
The 35-year-old man, who works for a courier company in Subang Jaya, is now being remanded to facilitate investigation.
Selangor police Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Fadzil Ahmat said the man from Kelantan was picked up about 11.15pm by investigators.
He said police had acquired a seven-day remand order against the man.
"Investigation is still ongoing. Police also urge anyone who has information on the case to contact investigating officer Assistant Superintendent Hanizam at 010-5762981," he said in a statement.
The latest arrest came five days after police nabbed a 34-year-old suspect, from Sibu, Sarawak, at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Sepang.
It was reported that the body of Valentino, 29, was found in a pool of blood by his colleagues who had just returned to the police station after a routine patrol, at 3.25am on Aug 31.
Checks revealed that the victim sustained multiple slash wounds on his head. Valentino was also shot once in his back by his attacker, who was believed to have used Valentino's service pistol Walther P99.
The firearm, which was missing, has yet to be found.
