KUALA TERENGGANU: State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today released another 50 photographs and details of the state’s most wanted criminals to help solve cases related to motorcycle theft and burglary.
State CID chief Assistant Commissioner Fazlisyam Abdul Majid said among them were a 16-year-old boy from here, whom police were seeking to assist in the investigation into a motorcycle theft in Marang, and two women, aged 21 and 40, for their connections in theft cases in Permaisuri, Setiu and here.
Fazlisyam the 50 suspects escaped police raids and were involved in crimes since 2006.
He said the cases were being probed under Sections 380, 379 and 379A of the Penal Code for theft and motorcycle theft.
“Those with information about the suspects should call the nearest police station,” he said at the Kuala Terengganu police contingent.
Fazlisyam said about 100 or 20 per cent of the wanted suspects were detained soon after the first photofits of the suspects were posted in September.
He said some of the suspects were nabbed while some surrendered themselves at police stations here and in Dungun, Besut and Marang.
“We are happy that the public has been cooperative and have tipped us off after the photofits were released,” he said.
Fazlisyam said the state CID will be releasing more photographs from its long list of 626 wanted criminals.
