Abducted, imprisoned, raped: Police rescue Kedah teen from week of hell

ALOR STAR: Abducted, imprisoned and raped.

That was the fate which befell a 17-year-old girl, who endured a week of hell at the hand of her captors.

She was held in a store room in the house and raped repeatedly.

Her ordeal ended when a team from the Kedah police headquarters’ D9 Serious Crimes unit stormed the house, located in Kuala Sungai Yan, Yan at 6am today.

Kedah police Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Mior Farid Al Athrash Wahid said his men received word on the abduction on Monday.

Acting on intelligence gathered, the D9 team tracked down the suspect before raiding the house today.

They arrested six men, aged in their 20s to 50s.

“The girl was held in a store room at the house for a week. Upon questioning, the girl told us that she was raped several times by the main suspect,” he said.

The main suspect, said Mior Farid, had a criminal record and was wanted by police for a litany of offences, including robbery, wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation, drug abuse, as well as possession of a dangerous weapon.

Mior Farid said police also recovered stolen goods in the same house including a Proton Perdana and a BMW car, two high-powered motorcycles, mobile phones, and television sets.

Police are probing the case under Section 342 of the Penal Code for wrongful confinement and Section 376 of the same Code for raping the girl.

Police will seek a remand order for the suspects tomorrow.
