Abuse victim allegedly beaten to death using chair, belt

PORT DICKSON: Abuse victim Nur Aina Nabihah Muhammad Abdullah who died on Wednesday was believed to have been beaten to death using, among others, a chair and a belt.

These were among the things police found after a suspect, 35, and his 34-year-old wife, who is also the victim’s stepmother were brought back to their residence in Taman Vista Jaya, Lukut.

The couple were taken to the scene after police obtained a seven-day remand order against them at noon.

The suspects, in orange lockup attire, were handcuffed and were taken into the house separately to pinpoint the location and items that they had allegedly used when abusing the 9-year-old.

District police chief Superintendent Zainudin Ahmad said, based on confessions, the suspects claimed they had hit the victim with a belt on the night she was hospitalised.

“The suspect also admitted to kicking and stomping on the victim until she passed out at 11.30pm.

“They then brought the victim to Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital in Seremban where she was pronounced dead an hour later. In fact, the suspects also admitted to hitting the victim in

the past using a plastic chair.

“Police have also seized the broken chair,” he said in a statement yesterday.

Earlier, magistrate Siti Khairiah Abdul Razak allowed a seven-day remand against the couple. It expires on Feb 8.

They are being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

It was reported that Nur Aina died as a result of abuse, with a post-mortem examination determining that the child had injuries to her kidneys, broken bones and other internal injuries.
