PUTRAJAYA: A remand order against an ex-company senior manager has been extended until Jan 27 to facilitate an investigation into a graft case worth over RM2 million.
Magistrate Ahmad Afiq Hasan allowed the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) application to extend the original remand order against the 40-year-old man, starting tomorrow.
The man, who was detained at the MACC headquarters here while having his statement recorded on Tuesday, is being investigated under Section 17(a) of the MACC Act 2009.
An MACC source said initial investigations revealed that the former senior manager had received bribes worth over RM2 million from a company to approve credit notes for rebates, incentives and advertisements for computer components to sellers to the company.
The graft buster is also looking for other persons of interest to facilitate the investigation into the case.
