Three officers in Sabah passport syndicate case remanded six days

KOTA KINABALU: Three enforcement officers allegedly involved in a passport renewal syndicate in Sabah have been remanded for six days starting tomorrow.

The remand applied by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) was granted by magistrate Wan Farrah Fariza this morning.

MACC arrested the trio after recording their statements at their office at about 2pm yesterday.

According to a statement from MACC yesterday, the trio is believed to have received RM300,000 from the syndicate since last year.

They were detained at the state MACC office under Op Terbang, which followed a month of intelligence gathering by the graft-busters.
