Long queue at Klang police station after summons payment system glitch

KLANG: A huge crowd turned up at the North Klang district police headquarters here today to settle their traffic summonses with 50 per cent discount.

However, many were left disappointed as they could not get a queue number since the police online summons payment system went offline.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Nurulhuda Mohd Salleh said as of 1pm, more than 600 queue numbers had been given out and police had to stop issuing the numbers due to the offline situation.

She said the system was only online intermittently and as of 4.30pm, only about 100 people were able to pay their summonses.

“We will be open till 10pm and try to serve as many people as possible. We are sorry but the rest will have to come back tomorrow.”

Many of those waiting were seen complaining over the long wait as some had arrived as early as 9.30am but were still waiting in the afternoon for their numbers to be called.

The 50 per cent discount offer by the North Klang police is over two days and in conjunction with the Merdeka month celebration and its meet-the-people programme.
