KUANTAN: Police are still verifying allegations that a video showing a kitten being set on fire was shot in Pahang.
Pahang Police Chief Datuk Abdul Jalil Hassan said all 11 district police chiefs have been informed about the incident and were told to engage with non-governmental organisations, and residents' association to check on the claim.
"Police have found the viral news about the incident where a kitten was set on fire but we are still investigating if the incident happened in Pahang. We urge those with information to come forward so that the culprits will be arrested," he said after presenting several awards to policemen for their outstanding services here today.
In a 44-second video of the incident which had gone viral, an individual could be seen setting a kitten on fire by pouring petrol on the feline before lighting it.
