PUTRAJAYA: Four people, including two former senior officers of a private hospital, have been remanded to facilitate an investigation into a RM200,000 bribery case which took place between 2016 and 2019.
The other two people detained are owners of medical companies.
All the suspects are aged between 34 and 65.
A source close to the investigation said that the four were detained at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's (MACC) headquarters in Putrajaya yesterday afternoon.
The source said three of the four suspects have been remanded until June 19.
The remaining suspect, who is a former senior officer with a private hospital, has been remanded for five days from today.
The two former senior officers of a private hospital were alleged to have solicited and received bribes from the two company owners to help facilitate medical equipment purchases, land purchases, development projects and supply of information technology equipment for the private hospital they were employed at.
MACC Special Operations division director Datuk Tan Kang Sai, when contacted, confirmed that all the suspects have been detained under Section 16 (a) (A) of the MACC Act 2009.
