BALIK PULAU: Police detained three men, including two senior citizens, to assist in an investigation into a fight between several customers and a food delivery rider, in front of a restaurant at Persiaran Bayan Indah, Bayan Lepas, near here yesterday.
Video footage of the incident has since gone viral on social media.
Southwest district deputy police chief Deputy Superintendent Jafri Md Zain said the incident was believed to have happened about 2pm.
He said police received a report from a 66-year-old man about 30 minutes after the incident.
"According to the senior citizen, the fight involved him, his 68-year-old friend and the food delivery rider.
"The incident left them with head and bodily injuries," he said.
Jafri said police also received a report from the food delivery rider about 9pm last night.
He said police were still probing the actual cause of the incident.
"Following the incident, police detained three men to assist in our probe under Section 324 of the Penal Code," he added.
Police advised the people not to speculate about the incident, which could affect the police's investigation.
