KUALA LUMPUR: Police have received a report on a hit-and-run accident in Damansara Utama yesterday, after a dashcam video of the incident went viral.
The dashcam footage that was recorded at 7.18pm yesterday showed a SUV entering the middle lane of a freeway at high speed before rear-ending a motorcyclist.
The impact then caused the motorcyclist to fall off his vehicle on the right lane. When the owner of the dashcam stopped to check on the victim, the SUV drove away.
The victim was unconscious for a few seconds before he was seen squirming and regaining consciousness.
The incident has since gone viral with netizens spreading screenshots of the SUV's plate number, calling for the police to take immediate action against what some netizens said could be considered as 'attempted murder'.
When contacted, police confirmed receiving a report on the SUV.
The victim's condition is still unknown.
