KUALA LUMPUR: Police have confirmed that the owner of an SUV involved in a hit and run accident in Damansara Utama has came forward to lodge a report on the incident.
In a statement issued by Petaling Jaya district police chief ACP Mohamad Fakruddin Abdul Hamid, he said, "Our investigations have found that the owner of the SUV is a Malaysian national aged 51 years old and he has filed for a police report yesterday at 12.02pm."
"We have taken his statement although we are still making efforts to track down the victim and we urge him to come forward as soon as possible to ease investigations," he said.
The dashcam footage of the incident that was recorded at 7.18pm on Sunday showed an SUV entering the middle lane at a highway heading towards Damansara at a high speed before rear-ending a motorcyclist which caused the rider to fall off his motorcycle.
The victim appeared to be unconscious for a few seconds before he is seen squirming and regaining consciousness, although his current condition is still unknown.
