The matter was revealed by the couple who posted to their X account last night.
"Following our video that went viral on YouTube. We have been in contact with the Malaysian police and are helping them with their investigation," the status read.
They also embeded a video of where the incident took place which had garnered over 187,000 views and received up to 5,500 likes on their YouTube channel, 'TREAD the Globe'.
Meanwhile, Perak police chief Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri when contacted today confirmed the matter and said police had identified the traffic police involved.
"Done (identifying the traffic police) and a press statement will be issued later," he said briefly when contacted by the New Straits Times.
Yesterday, Mohd Yusri said police were looking for the couple to assist in the investigation.
Mohd Yusri said that police were still tracking them down and it was learnt that the couple had left the country.
On Sunday, Chris and Marianne Fisher, from Shropshire posted on their YouTube channel that they were stopped by traffic police who solicited RM100 from them.
The 51-second video clip, courtesy of an onboard camera, showed the couple stopping their van by the roadside before a traffic policeman appeared at the front driver's window.
Both parties were heard exchanging greetings before the policeman told the couple that they were driving above the speed limit.
The cop was heard telling them that the speed limit was 60kmh while they were travelling at 70.5kmh.
The cop told them that he would issue them a summons and they had to pay it at the police station, to which Marianne agreed. However, the cop then brazenly made them an offer.
