KUALA LUMPUR: The police arrested two men near Batu Caves yesterday to assist in their probe into a petrol bomb attack on an entertainment centre in Jalan Yap Kwan Seng in the city.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said the two men, both aged 25, were arrested at a house and will be remanded.
"Based on preliminary investigations, the incident does not involve any extremist elements," he was quoted as saying by Bernama.
Rusdi said the police have already taken the statements of the entertainment centre's owner and manager.
The case is being probed under Section 435 and Section 506 of the Penal Code for mischief by fire or explosive substance and criminal intimidation.
Yesterday, closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage of the incident went viral. The clips show four men on motorcycles throwing petrol bombs at the entertainment centre.
Meanwhile, Rusdi said 10 suspects including three foreigners linked to Israeli national Shalom Avitan, who was arrested with firearms and bullets in his posession, would be released on bail next week.
Rusdi said the suspects could all be called in again to assist in investigations.
The three foreigners will be handed over to the Immigration Department for further action.
On April 11, Avitan pleaded not guilty to two charges of possessing 158 bullets and trafficking six firearms in a hotel room in Ampang in March.
