Suspect nabbed by Johor cops 2 hours after robbing 7-Eleven outlet of cigarettes

ISKANDAR PUTERI: Police arrested a man just two hours after he allegedly robbed a 7-Eleven outlet in Taman Jaya Mas, here, on Saturday.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner M. Kumarasan said the suspect had threatened the 24-hour convenience store employee with a knife during the robbery at 8.30am.

He grabbed several packs of cigarettes before fleeing the scene.

Acting on information, police arrested the suspect two hours later at an undisclosed area and recovered the stolen items.

The suspect, who is in his 30s, tested negative for drugs and had no previous criminal record.

Kumarasan said police had obtained a seven-day remand order for the suspect who allegedly confessed to the crime.
