HULU SELANGOR: Police are looking for more evidence in the murder case of Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah in a second location.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said police was investigating a location in Perak, about 20 minutes from the main location in the case in Kampung Sri Keledang, Hulu Bernam.
"We are looking for her personal belongings that could be evidence in the case.
"Police have found a smartphone that is believed to have belonged to the victim," he said at a press conference.
The smartphone was found in a ditch by the Selangor police sub-aquatic forensic unit at 12.21pm today after an hour of diving.
Police brought a 26-year-old suspect to the scene of the search to identify Nur Farah Kartini's smartphone.
Nur Farah Kartini was reported missing after delivering a rental car to a customer last Wednesday.
She was found dead on Monday near Felda Gedangsa.
Police arrested a civil servant to assist in the investigation.
Perak police confirmed that the suspect is a lance corporal who has been serving at the Slim River police station in Tanjung Malim for five years.
The suspect has been remanded for seven days until July 22 to assist in the investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
