KUALA LUMPUR: Police will continue to investigate the case of money which went missing from a savings account involving a bank in Kuala Kangsar, despite the main suspect having died.
Federal Commercial Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf said his department was tracing the owner of the bank account into which the stolen money was deposited.
"Even though the main suspect, who is an employee of the bank, has died, the investigation of this case will continue," he told reporters.
It was reported that police were investigating the theft of over RM2 million from the savings account of a bank customer in Kuala Kangsar.
A staff of the bank was believed to be involved.
The prime suspect was reported to have taken his own life on July 5.
Ramli said police received a report on July 9, after a bank customer discovered more than RM2 million missing from his savings account.
