KUALA LUMPUR: A 53-year-old was among four Thai women arrested for prostitution during a raid at a reflexology centre in Kepong last night.
The woman claimed she was a single mother who engaged in prostitution to earn money for her child's education in Thailand.
She said in Thailand, she worked two jobs and that as a masseuse in Malaysia, she would earn RM53 for a regular massage, and RM80 for sexual services.
The raid, by the Kuala Lumpur Immigration Department, was carried out following public complaints.
"A total of 18 personnel were involved in the raid and four women aged between 30 and 53 were arrested," said KL Immigration Department director Wan Mohammed Saupee Wan Yusoff.
All four women are in Malaysia on social visas.
During the raid, the premise caretaker claimed he was unaware that vice activities were taking place at the centre.
