KL City Hall raids four suspected prostitution massage centres in Kepong

KUALA LUMPUR: Four massage centres suspected of being involved in prostitution activities in Kepong have been raided by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (KL City Hall) today (June 29).

In a statement, KL City Hall said the premises were identified through investigations and surveillance conducted over five days in the parliamentary area.

They said the four premises were immediately shut down, and business items were confiscated.

"Four notices were issued under UUK 3(1) of the Trade, Business, and Industrial By-Laws (WPKL) 2016 for conducting business activities without a valid license.

"In addition, 57 unauthorised barrier structures at the four premises were demolished under Section 79(1) of the Street, Drainage, and Building Act 1974," read the statement.

KL City Hall added that the confiscated items have been taken and stored at the Jalan Lombong Depot in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.

KL City Hall also pledged that they will continue to take action and conduct regular monitoring at identified hotspots.

"For any complaints, the public can contact or provide information through the Adu@KL website at http://adukl.dbkl.gov.my."
