DBKL shuts 5 prostitution, 2 entertainment outlets [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) shut down five prostitution hubs and two entertainment centres around the city centre yesterday.

Under a special operation, the premises were shut down immediately under the Local Government Act 1976 and the Entertainment (Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur) Act 1992.

It also demolished internal structures of the prostitution centres that were built without approval and seized all items related to the business.

"All the seized items were taken to the Seizure Warehouse on Jalan Lombong, Taman Miharja Cheras, Kuala Lumpur for record and documentation purposes," it said in a Facebook post.

DBKL also issued six compound notices under the Licensing of Trades, Businesses, and Industries (Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur) By-Laws 2016 and Licensing of Food Establishments (Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur) By-Laws 2016.

Meanwhile, it also issued five enforcement notices under the Streets, Drainage and Building Act 1974 and three notices of offence under Entertainment (Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur) Act 1992.
