SERDANG: The 14-year-old girl arrested for impersonating a staff member at Sultan Idris Shah Hospital (Serdang Hospital) used her mother's identity card to gain unauthorised access to the premises.
Sepang police chief Superintendent Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof said based on the preliminary finding, the girl had posed as her mother and used her identity card to gain access into the hospital.
He said police have also recorded the teenager's mother's statement last night.
"This morning the teen was brought to the Sepang Magistrate's Court for a remand application.
We got a two-day remand order to investigate the case, starting from today," he said.
Wan Kamarul Azran said the case is being investigated under Section 470 of the Penal Code for trespassing and under Section 170 of the Penal Code for impersonating as a public servant.
When asked if she was mentally sound or required a mental health assessment, he said police may request the court for a mental assessment, once the case is in court.
Earlier the Health Ministry said preliminary investigation showed that the teen had used a fake identification card to carry out her impersonation as a hospital staff member.
It was reported that the 14-year-old teen who posed as a hospital staff member, among others, had also offered to assist in the operating room.
