Below is the timeline of the disappearance of teacher Istigomah Ahmad Rozi, who went missing on Dec 26 last year. Her decapitated body was found by the roadside near Kampung Tanjung Rimau Luar, Pulau Sebang on Dec 31. Her body was identified based on DNA analysis which was conducted on Aug 2 by the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department's Data Bank/DNA Division.
Dec 26, 2023: Istiqomah Ahmad Rozi, 33, a teacher at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kota Masai 3, failed to return home after leaving for work.
Dec 27, 2023: A missing person report was lodged at 12.36am.
Dec 27, 2023: Istiqomah's car was found at a popular supermarket in Pasir Gudang, Johor.
Dec 28, 2023: News of Istiqomah's disappearance began circulating on social media. Her husband, Mohd Yusof Mokhtar, revealed that he had tried various methods to locate her, including seeking help from Islamic spiritual healers.
Dec 31, 2023: Police find a dismembered body, believed to be a woman. Parts of the body were found stuffed in a rubbish bin and discarded in a drain in Kampung Tanjung Rimau, Pulau Sebang, Alor Gajah, Melaka,
Jan 6, 2024: It was reported that an unidentified woman was believed to be been brutally murdered, with dismembered limbs found in Melaka. However, the victim was not identified.
Aug 12, 2024: Alor Gajah police chief Superintendent Ashari Abu Samah confirmed that the headless, dismembered body found in the rubbish bin on Dec 31 was that of Istiqomah Ahmad Rozi, 33.
