Identity of fifth suspect in Semenyih armed robbery revealed

KUALA LUMPUR: The identity of the fifth suspect in an armed robbery at Jalan Sungai Pening, Kampung Pasir, on July 31, has been revealed by police.

"The suspect, who is still at large, has 10 records, including impersonating a civil servant, criminal intimidation, cheating, vehicle theft, and drug offences," said Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan at a press conference at the Sepang police headquarters on Monday.

He said the suspect was among five allegedly involved in the robbery.

Another picture of the suspect wearing a police vest was also released to media.

It was reported that four men, including three members of the General Operations Force (GOF), were charged in connection with the robbery in Semenyih last month.

The four were charged at the Bandar Baru Bangi magistrate's court on Aug 9.

Several armed robbers were reported to have broken into a house on Jalan Sungai Pening, Kampung Pasir, escaping with cash and jewellery.

The three other suspects arrested were police General Operation Force members.

They had allegedly fired shots when they noticed a witness tailing them after the robbery.

Meanwhile, Hussein said police are looking for a man by the name of Razali Aming, whose last known address is Kampung Nunuyan Laut P/S 220, 90007, Sandakan, Sabah, to assist in an investigation.
