KAJANG: The final suspect in an armed robbery in Semenyih on July 31 has been caught.
Kajang police chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof said the man was arrested around 10am yesterday in Lahad Datu, Sabah.
"Based on investigations, the suspect is from that state.
"The 45-year-old man is unemployed and has various criminal and drug records," he said in a statement today.
The suspect has been remanded to facilitate further investigations.
"This fifth arrest means all five suspects have been arrested. The four others have been charged," Naazron added.
Armed robbers were reported to have broken into a house on Jalan Sungai Pening, Kampung Pasir, Semenyih, escaping with cash and jewellery.
Three of the suspects were General Operations Force (GOF) members.
They had allegedly fired shots when they noticed a witness tailing them after the robbery.
Four men, including the three GOF members, were charged over the robbery at the Bandar Baru Bangi magistrate's court on Aug 9.
