No sign of forced entry into home of murdered Kuantan woman, say police

KUANTAN: There was no forced entry into the house where a woman was found dead with strangulation marks in Indera Mahkota here on Aug 14, raising suspicion that the suspect was someone whom the victim knew.

Kuantan police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Mohd Zahari Wan Busu said that although there was no sign of forced entry, her handphone and car keys were missing.

"The closed-circuit television camera installed on the premises is missing. We believe it might have been dismantled by the suspect. The victim's other personal items were left untouched.

"We are questioning several individuals, including her family members and neighbours, to identify the suspect, and the motive behind the incident," he said in a text message today.

It was reported yesterday, the 28-year-old housewife, who was earlier feared missing, was found dead with strangulation marks inside her bedroom by her husband, a Chinese national in his late 20s.

Her 62-year-old father had lodged a missing person report at 3.25pm before she was found unconscious at 7.30pm the same day.

Meanwhile, Wan Mohd Zahari said the victim's factory supervisor husband, father, father-in-law and mother-in-law, who are both Chinese nationals have been remanded till Aug 21.

He said the case is investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

It is learnt that only the victim's car keys have been reported

missing, while her car and other valuables, including a purse, were left behind.
