KLANG: A 45-year-old man was shot by an unknown assailant at a restaurant in BBT One Boulevard, Batu Nilam, Bandar Bukit Tinggi, here on Friday.
Klang Selatan police chief Assistant Commissioner Cha Hoong Fong said the police were alerted to a shooting incident by a security guard at about 2.55am.
"A team was dispatched to the scene to verify the information and found that a man was shot in the 2.15am incident by a man who came in a white Vellfire or Alphard.
"The suspect, believed to be a local adult, alighted from the vehicle and fired several rounds at individuals seated outside the restaurant before fleeing in the same vehicle," Cha said.
He said forensic investigators from the Selangor Police Contingent's Forensic Unit who arrived at the scene recovered five spent bullet casings, of which two hit the chair at the restaurant, two more bullets struck the restaurant's wall and one struck the victim on his left butt cheek.
"The man was rushed to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang where he is currently being treated and is reported to be in stable condition," he said in a statement.
He said the case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.
