Police hunt for two suspects in Klang armed robbery

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are hunting for two suspects involved in an armed robbery in Klang.

Klang Selatan district police chief Assistant Commissioner Cha Hoong Fong in a statement said this follows a police report made by a medical officer at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah.

"On Oct 26, at approximately 4:30 pm, the district police headquarters received a police report from a medical officer from the hospital after a 69-year-old female was admitted for injuries on her left and right arms.

"The victim reported being robbed by two suspects on a motorcycle, both wearing black jackets and helmets, at Jalan Bayu Villa in Klang.," read the statement.

He said aside from her injuries, the woman lost her identity card and bank card, a mobile phone, and cash totalling RM 117.

He said the victim is currently in stable condition and receiving treatment at said hospital.

As such, Cha added that the police have opened an investigation paper under Section 394 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery which carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison and caning.

"The police are actively continuing efforts to locate and apprehend the two suspects involved.

"We also urge members of the public who have any information regarding this incident to come forward to their nearest police station or contact the Klang Selatan district police headquarters at 03-33762222 to assist in the investigation," he said.
