KUALA KRAI: A motorcyclist was killed after his bike collided with an express bus at Km 95 Jalan Kota Baru-Gua Musang near Kampung Manjor here early today.
Kuala Krai police chief Superintendent Mazlan Mamat said the victim succumbed to suffered serious head injuries while receiving treatment at Sultan Ismail Petra hospital.
He said the victim was travelling from Gua Musang to Kuala Krai when the crash occured at 12.10am.
"Initial investigation showed the motorcyclist failed to overtake a car, causing him to enter the opposite lane and he collided with the express bus which was heading to Kuala Lumpur from Kota Baru.
"The victim was rushed to the hospital but died later while receiving the treatment," he said in a statement.
He said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of Road Transport Act 1987.
He urged those with information on the case to contact Kuala Krai traffic police division.
