LIPIS: A 31-year-old driver of a car was killed and another injured in an accident involving four vehicles at Km18 Jalan Lipis-Benta in Kuala Lipis, here, today.
The dead was identified as Amirul Islah Ibrahim, who was driving a Proton Inspira when the 8.30am incident occurred.
Distriict police chief Superintendent Ismail Man said the other vehicles involved in the crash were a Perodua Kancil, a Perodua Myvi and a Toyota Avanza.
"Amirul who was travelling from Melaka to Gua Musang in Kelantan when he was involved in a head-on collision with the oncoming Kancil and Avanza. The Kancil driver sustained serious injuries.
"A Myvi which was trailing the Inspira was also involved in the accident. Both the Avanza and Myvi drivers escaped unhurt," he said, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Ismail said Amirul's body was taken to Kuala Lipis Hospital for post-mortem examination while the 43-year-old Kancil driver was being treated in the same hospital.
