RM15,000 worth of alcohol seized in Inanam raid

Kota Kinabalu: Marine police conducted a raid on a vacant house in Kampung Kionsom Lama, Inanam, seizing nearly RM15,000 worth of smuggled alcohol.

District marine police operations base commander Assistant Superintendent Roslee Abd Rahman said acting on a tip-off, the police entered the unlocked house and discovered various types of untaxed alcohol concealed under a canvas sheet.

No one was present at the time.

The confiscated goods were brought to the Kota Kinabalu marine police operations base for further action.

Authorities are working to identify those responsible for the illegal importation and distribution of the alcohol.

The case is being investigated under the Customs Act 1967.
