KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman has advised motorists to always follow the traffic rules and never pose a danger to themselves and other motorists.
This follows a picture posted on social media of a man posing with his motorcycle placed upside down along a main road.
Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said he believed the picture was taken by a participant of the RXZ Members 6.0 bikers gathering at Kuala Nerus, Terengganu recently.
"Maybe the person simply wanted a picture to remember the event by. Either way, road users must always abide by the traffic rules.
"They should also always follow the instructions of law enforcement personnel at all times," he told the New Straits Times when contacted today.
He said while this incident did not cause anything untoward, such actions could pose a danger to themselves and other motorists.
"We have advised motorists time and time again to always follow the rules and regulations. This is to ensure that all road users are safe at all times."
He said motorists should also be considerate and be patient with one another while on the road.
It was reported that police issued 65 summonses at the RXZ Members 6.0 bikers gathering here and in Kuala Nerus on Saturday.
Police also seized 15 motorcycles in the operation that began at 5pm.
The top offences were modifying the exhaust system, lack of side mirrors and missing registration numbers.
The RXZ Members 6.0 bikers gathering took place on Friday and Saturday at the Terengganu Motor Circuit in Gong Badak, Kuala Nerus. It attracted more than 80,000 participants from across the country.
