SEREMBAN: The Seremban City Council (MBS) seized business equipment from several premises owned by GISB Holdings (GISB) in Garden Homes, Seremban 2, earlier today.
The crackdown followed findings that the businesses were operating without valid licences and had constructed additional structures without proper approval from local authorities.
MBS secretary Mas Midyawan Yahya said that of the six inspected premises linked to GISB, only one held a valid business licence.
"Today, we inspected six premises suspected of being associated with GISB, but none were operating at the time. Our records show that only one had a licence, while another had expired, and the remaining four were operating without any licence," he said in a statement today.
Three of the premises were issued notices for multiple violations, including placing business items in public spaces, unauthorised renovations, and installing additional roofing without permits.
Seizure notices were also served.
Mas Midyawan said that some premises had previously been fined for operating without approval.
"Records indicate that several of these businesses applied for licences, but their applications were rejected due to non-compliance, such as unauthorised structural modifications," he added.
During the operation, a stall selling traditional cakes under a tent, allegedly run by GISB workers, was also seized.
