KUALA LUMPUR: Several business premises, including charity homes and schools managed by Global Ikhwan Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISB), around Seremban II and Bandar Bukit Raja, Klang, were shut down this morning.
A survey by Buletin TV3 revealed that premises such as bakeries, grocery shops, and restaurants were closed and locked, with notices of operational closure posted on the doors.
Buletin TV3 crew managed to interview a business owner and a regular customer of GISB-operated businesses in the Klang area.
The business owner, who wished to remain anonymous, said most of the employees at the premises were children and teenagers.
"The bakery and the mart were run by kids. When we went in to make a purchase, we saw that it was indeed the children who were managing the business," they said.
Meanwhile, a resident living near one of GISB's charity homes in Bandar Bukit Raja said they had often seen groups of children selling biscuits around the neighbourhood.
"They used to come on foot, going from one neighbourhood to another selling biscuits. All of them were orphans walking from house to house," they said.
Earlier today, Jakim said it is not responsible for law enforcement involving GISB.
On Sept 11, police rescued 402 children from 20 homes connected to GISB during a raid, leading to 171 arrests.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the victims, who were locals, had endured various forms of exploitation and abuse including being sodomised.
Yesterday, it was revealed that the 402 children rescued during a police raid on 20 welfare homes yesterday are believed to be the children of members of GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd.
Police also received information that they were also taught the act of sodomy and forced to sodomise other children in the home.
GISB has since denied the allegations and threatened legal action against those who defame the company.
