Cops launch investigation into viral confrontation on Second Link Expressway

JOHOR BARU: Police today confirmed that they have launched an investigation into a confrontation between a motorcyclist and the driver of a foreign-registered car on the Second Link Expressway, which was captured in a clip that went viral on social media.

Iskandar Puteri district police chief M. Kumarasan, in a statement yesterday, said the 32-second-long clip was uploaded by a Facebook user

Kumarasan said the clip showed a motorcycle heading straight in the left lane when a grey car in front of it suddenly cut across into the double lane on the left.

"This provoked a confrontation between the motorcyclist and the car driver," he said.

Kumarasan added that the case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.

He also urged the public with any information on the incident to contact investigating officer Inspector Muhammad Farhan Roselan at 017-6304943 or Inspector Amirul Iman Hassan Nasirudin at 011-26861695.
