IPOH: A Bangladeshi was found dead, believed to have been murdered by a fellow Bangladeshi at Taman Lagenda Phase 3 in Teluk Intan.
The victim, 27, who worked as a contract worker, was found in a bush behind the house he shared with three others, before the police received a report at 5am today.
Perak police chief Datuk Azizi Mat Aris said the victim was found with blood covering his chest and injuries to his neck, believed to have been caused by an unidentified weapon.
"The victim is believed to have gone missing about 8.30pm last night.
"Based on statements, the victim went missing after dinner when his friend went to invite him to pray," he said at a press conference at the Perak police contingent headquarters today.
He added that three Bangladeshis who lived in the same house – aged 32 to 39 – have been detained for questioning.
"So far, we have confiscated three mobile phones belonging to the suspects and are working to locate the weapon believed to have been used in the incident.
"The victim's body was taken to Teluk Intan Hospital for a post-mortem," he said, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
