JEMPOL: Police have arrested a Rohingya man who fled after he allegedly stabbed his Indonesian girlfriend on Sept 26.
Jempol district police chief, Superintendent Hoo Chang Hook, said he was arrested around 1pm today in Penang.
He said the suspect was apprehended by police personnel from the Negri Sembilan police headquarters, Bukit Aman and Jempol.
"The suspect will be taken to the Bahau Magistrate's Court tomorrow for remand proceedings," he said.
It was previously reported that an Indonesian woman was injured after being stabbed by her boyfriend at a house in Taman ACBE.
The victim, 40, was allegedly stabbed with a knife by her 38-year-old boyfriend.
Hoo said the suspect allegedly stabbed the woman after she told him that she was going home to Indonesia.
"Angered by the news, the suspect hit the woman before stabbing her. He then fled on a motorcycle."
He said the case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing hurt using a dangerous weapon.
