Fuel smugglers nabbed with homemade air rifles, BB pellets

TANAH MERAH: Police arrested two fuel smugglers last night and seized 210l of petrol as well as two homemade air rifles and 150 ball bearings worth about RM3,150.

General Operations Force Southeast Brigade commander Datuk Nik Ros Azhan Nik Ab Hamid said the two were detained in a raid at a house in Kampung Nibong.

He said GOF members the seized petrol was worth about RM430, adding that three mobile phoned valued at RM4,500 and a weighing machine worth RM120 were also confiscated.

"A GOF team from the Seventh Battalion raided the house about 10.30pm and found the guns, the marbles and the other items. They then detained the two, aged 40 and 44," he said.

He added that initial investigations showed that the men, both of whom tested positive for drug use, were involved in fuel smuggling.

He said the two men and the seized items have been handed over to Tanah Merah police for further action.

On another matter, Nik Ros Azhan said four foreigners were arrested in Kampung Gual Jedok, here, for entering the state without documents.

He said the three men and a woman, all from Myanmar, were detained on the roadside about midnight.

"They were believed to have entered Kelantan via the Golok river," he added.
