PUTRAJAYA Three Chinese nationals arrested for pickpocketing at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 on Friday will be charged at the Sepang magistrate's court today.
KLIA district police chief ACP Azman Shari'at said that the arrests took place at the International Arrival Hall of KLIA Terminal 1, with the suspects being remanded for four days starting on Oct 26.
The police received a report from a Japanese man on Oct 22, who claimed he fell victim to the pickpockets. He noticed his bag's zipper had been opened and his wallet missing when he was about to make a payment at a restaurant in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, on Oct 21.
"The complainant received a notification on his mobile phone indicating that three unauthorised transactions had been made with his bank card at an unknown location. He blocked all his bank cards after the transactions totaled RM7,622," Azman said.
The case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code, he added.
