KUALA LUMPUR: The decision on whether to detain Datin Vivy Yusof and her husband Datuk Fadzarudin Shah Anuar, will depend on the investigators handling the case.
Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said he was leaving the matter entirely to the investigators, who would decide on any appropriate action based on the results of the investigation into a multi-million ringgit investment in FashionValet Sdn Bhd.
However, he said the investigation would take time due to several factors that may complicate the process.
"At this stage, MACC officers are doing their best to resolve the case, but I expect that it will not be resolved quickly because it also involves several corporate decisions. So, it will take a little more time," he said when contacted today.
Azam also did not rule out the possibility that Vivy and her husband could be called in again tomorrow for a fifth round of questioning by investigators.
"In earlier sessions, we obtained information through documents, accounts, investments into FashionValet, and the assets they own.
"So, I don't foresee this being resolved today, and I expect investigators will call them back to assist in the investigation."
Azam also reported that suspicious transactions have been detected from 2018 to last year, based on the investigation conducted so far.
He said MACC had seized around 60 boxes containing various documents from FashionValet, Khazanah Nasional Berhad and Permodalan Nasional Bhd to assist with the investigation.
The forensic accounting team at MACC, he added, was still reviewing the documents obtained.
Two days ago, MACC raided the couple's residence and seized 11 luxury handbags and a wristwatch, estimated to be worth around RM200,000.
Additionally, several personal and company bank accounts belonging to the founders had been frozen.
