KLUANG: The worried parents of a 14-year-old boy who had reported him missing on Friday, were relieved when he returned home unharmed yesterday.
The boy returned home after nearly a week and told them he was at a friend's house, enjoying late nights of gaming sessions.
His parents reported him missing when he failed to return to their home at Jalan Dahlia, in Kampung Melayu here, on Tuesday.
After being unable to find their teenage son, they decided to lodge a police report, three days later.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd Noh said the parents were initially not worried as their son often left their home on his own to stay with relatives or friends nearby.
However, after three days of not hearing from him, they decided to lodge a missing person's report.
The boy returned home yesterday, unaware that his parents and the residents of the housing estate had been looking for him.
The concerned mother, upon seeing her son back at home last night, questioned his whereabouts and was told that he had gone to his friend's house to hang out and play video games.
He also told them he had returned home briefly, but nobody was at home.
He returned to eat and have a bath, before heading back to his friend's place.
Bahrin said after his parents were assured of his safety and found nothing suspicious in his behaviour, they retracted the missing person's report.
