Teen nabbed for driving without licence

PUTRAJAYA: A 16-year-old teenager was detained by officers from the Ijok Selangor Road Transport Department (RTD) enforcement station after being caught driving a vehicle without a licence.

According to a statement posted on Selangor RTD's Facebook page yesterday, the teenager has been penalised accordingly.

"The teenager was detained during patrol operations around Jalan Kapar, Meru Tambahan, and Jalan Bukit Kerayong.

"RTD (personnel) detected the car being driven by a 16-year-old," read the statement.

The department said the teenager also failed to wear a seatbelt, and the car he was driving was found to have an expired Motor Vehicle Licence (LKM) for four years and lacked insurance coverage.

RTD said it was committed to continuously monitoring all vehicles to ensure compliance with road traffic laws and regulations.

The public is encouraged to report traffic violations via email at aduantrafik@jpj.gov.my or through the MyJPJ e-complaint application, with detailed information about the incident and the complainant.
