GOF seizes smuggled medicines for animals worth over RM430,000 in Tumpat

TUMPAT: The general operations force seized various types of smuggled medicine for animals worth over RM430,000, here, yesterday.

However, no one was arrested in the operation at Simpangan illegal jetty.

GOF Southeast Brigade commander Datuk Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Rahman said the GOF personnel were conducting Op Taring Wawasan when they spotted several boxes left unattended at the illegal jetty at about 3.30pm.

"No one came to claim the items.

"Checks inside the boxes found various types of medicines for animals, worth about RM434,200, believed to have been smuggled from Thailand," he said.

In a separate case, GOF personnel seized cosmetic products worth nearly RM10,000 in Rantau Panjang yesterday.

Ros Azhan said no one was arrested in the 1.30pm operation at Epek illegal jetty.

"The items were believed to have been smuggled from Thailand for local distribution," he said.
