KUALA LUMPUR: A man suspected of murdering his mother and hiding her body in a freezer three years ago will be charged in court tomorrow.
KL police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said they have received instructions from the Deputy Public Prosecutor to charge the man.
The man, in his 50s, will be charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
"We took statements from 13 people to assist in investigations," he said in a statement.
Earlier this month, it was reported that the man confessed to police that he had murdered his mother.
It is understood that the suspect allegedly beat the victim, in her 80s, to death at his double-storey terrace house in March 2021.
She was then wrapped in a towel and plastic sheets before her body was stuffed in a freezer at the house.
Police arrested the suspect after he lodged a report.
