KUALA LUMPUR: A 22-year-old man was found dead in an apartment with multiple stab wounds, suggesting a targeted attack by at least 12 people, according to CCTV footage.
According to China Press, the incident occurred around 5a.m. in an apartment near Jalan Sungai Tapang in Padawan, Kuching.
The victim, from Miri, was discovered with several stab wounds on his body.
It was later revealed in a CCTV footage that at least 12 individuals forced their way into the apartment despite efforts by a security guard to stop them.
The group first vandalised an SUV in the parking lot before entering the building armed with weapons.
Viral videos online show the group arriving in two SUVs and a pickup truck.
They moved in a coordinated manner, with one person parking a vehicle and standing watch outside the apartment complex.
Another segment of the CCTV footage shows the group forcibly opening the grille gate at the apartment entrance.
Armed with what appeared to be weapons, they entered the unit, with one individual holding the door open for the others.
Padawan District Police Chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi confirmed the incident in a press release and stated that investigations are currently ongoing under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
