Selangor cops confirm investigation into infant's death at Klang Hospital

SHAH ALAM: Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed receiving a report involving an infant's death at a private hospital in Klang.

He said the report was lodged by the baby's father earlier today at the Klang Selatan station.

In a media statement, Hussein said that the case has been classified as an inquiry paper (KEP).

"Investigators from the South Klang District Police Headquarters are conducting a thorough investigation to determine if there are any criminal elements involved in the incident.

As part of the probe, individuals connected to the case, including hospital representatives, will be summoned for questioning," he said.

Hussein urged the public not trust or circulate unverified about the case as it could jeopardise the ongoing investigation.

"Unconfirmed allegations can cause confusion within the community, as well" he said.

He also urged social media users to act responsibly and refrain from spreading misinformation, which could lead to unnecessary public anxiety.

"We appeal to all parties to remain patient while awaiting the results of the investigation," he said.
