Student who pled guilty to non-physical sexual assault on juniors sent to Henry Gurney

BATU PAHAT: A student was ordered to be sent to Henry Gurney School, Melaka, after he pleaded guilty on Sunday to 63 counts of non-physical sexual harassment and possessing pornographic videos of his junior.

"Repent, use this punishment to reflect on yourself," said magistrate Suhaila Shafi'uddin before the sentencing.

The accused is categorised as a juvenile offender.

According to charges one to 62, he was accused of committing non-physical sexual harassment against seven male junior students by asking the victims to expose their bodies for the accused to view.

The acts were carried out at in school toilets, surau, the school and the victims' homes in this district, Kluang, and Tangkak.

The incidents occurred between 10am and 11am from December last year to the end of October, involving victims aged between 13 and 17.

For the 63rd charge, he was accused of possessing child pornographic videos on a laptop in a house at 2.30am on Nov 11.

According to the report, the accused instructed the victims to perform indecent acts and asked them to record the acts.

After completing the act, the victims were asked to hand over the video recordings to the accused.

The incidents occurred multiple times, with some students being asked to perform the act up to 12 times.

The victims were also instructed by the accused to repeat the same actions and were threatened with having the videos spread or being asked for money if they refused to comply with his demands.

The prosecution was led by deputy public prosecutor Farah Wahidah Mohd Sharip, while the accused was represented by lawyer Mohd Razak Sharif.

Earlier, the moral officer from the Batu Pahat Social Welfare Department, Silanoraismawati Mhd Zain, in her moral report, suggested that the accused be placed in the same school.

The court ordered the accused to undergo police supervision for one year and to report to the nearest police station after completing the sentence.

The court issued an order for the accused's parents to visit him at Henry Gurney School once a month.
