KOTA BARU: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested a man for allegedly offering an RM50,000 bribe to a police officer yesterday.
Sources said the 25-year-old suspect was detained at the state MACC's office about 3.30pm.
The sources said the money was for an inducement for the release of three individuals who were detained in Jalan Sri Cemerlang here.
"The three men were nabbed by the police for their involvement in human trafficking," said the sources.
State MACC director Rosli Husain confirmed the arrest.
He said the case was being investigated under Section 17(b) of the MACC Act 2009.
He also said the suspect would be brought to the Kota Baru magistrate's court tomorrow morning for a remand application.
