KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested an enforcement agency officer for allegedly receiving a RM50,000 bribe from an "agent" of an entertainment outlet.
The bribe was an inducement for the enforcement officer not to take action against the entertainment outlet, located in the federal capital, for employing foreigners without work permits.
Sources said the suspect, a man in his 40s, was detained about midnight when he was summoned to the Kuala Lumpur MACC headquarters to have his statement recorded.
